I have been interested in edged weapons since I was a child. Growing up in Southeast Asia, the knife was a common tool carried and used by everyone. Being exposed to martial arts and started training at the age of 10; it was just a natural progression that I would form a deep connection with knives.
This connection eventually pushed me to start making knives at the age of 20. As of today I have been a professional knifemaker for 35 years and I am known for my high tolerances and refined finishes. I started making military and fighting knives and never deviated from this style. I am one of the principal knifemakers responsible for starting the tactical knife movement back in the early 90's. At one time I held a position on the Board of Directors of the Knifemakers Guild. My work has been featured in museums, books, magazines; and I am a contributing writer to several publications as well.
From an early age my parents enrolled me in art classes. I use that knowledge and the understanding of lines and symmetry while designing every knife I make. What makes my knives unique, is not just the fact that I make everything by hand and hold very tight tolerances; it is also the knowledge I bring from being a martial artist for 45 years, a former Marines Recon and a modern combative instructor. These experiences influence my designs, helping me develop better tools for real practical use.
